Vadodara: Neelam Shrivastav, the daughter of former MLA Madhu Shrivastav, joined the Congress party on Saturday. Her sister Deepa Shrivastav had joined the Congress recently.Madhu Shrivastav was a BJP MLA from the Waghodiya constituency. He rebelled against the party on being denied a ticket in the last assembly election in 2022 and contested as an independent but lost.Madhu subsequently supported the Congress. While Waghodiya is not a part of the city, Madhu has significant clout in the eastern parts of the city. His son Deepak was a municipal councillor, but his nomination was rejected in the last civic election due to the three-child rule.
