Nagpur: After making 36 calls to book a domestic LPG refill, Bajrang Nagar resident Trimbak Lakde is still waiting for his booking to go through — a situation many citizens say reflects the worsening shortage of cooking gas cylinders in the city.Residents across Nagpur are reporting repeated booking failures and delivery delays of up to a week, as the LPG supply crisis enters its second week. Consumers say booking calls often fail to connect or get rejected due to technical issues, and even confirmed bookings are not being delivered on time.Lakde said he has been trying to book a cylinder since last Saturday but has not succeeded even once despite making 36 calls. His last booking was on January 27. Although the mandatory 25-day gap has already passed, the system is not accepting his request, citing technical issues.Kishor Nagpurkar, a resident of Durga Nagar, said he has been attempting to book a cylinder for the past two days. When repeated calls failed, he visited the gas agency office, only to find it closed due to a weekly holiday. Nagpurkar had last booked a cylinder in December and said he was surprised that even after nearly three months his booking is still not being accepted.Consumers who have managed to place bookings are also facing delivery delays. Vijay Chimurkar, a resident of Hanuman Nagar, booked a cylinder on March 12 and received an OTP confirmation, but the refill has still not been delivered even after five days. When he contacted the agency, he was told the delivery would be made soon.Pramod Kahate of Medical Square is facing a similar delay. He booked a refill on March 10 and is still waiting for the cylinder, with no clear delivery timeline.Radha Moklawar, a resident of Jagnade Square, said her household ran out of gas two days ago. After repeated booking attempts failed, she visited the agency office but was told it was not possible to confirm when her request would be processed.With supply yet to stabilise, residents say they are struggling to manage daily cooking needs and are hoping for clarity on when the LPG situation will improve.
