Times News Network Ludhiana: An unidentified man set the garment section of a supermarket near Veer Palace at Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road on fire. Employees of the supermarket quickly doused the flames, averting a major disaster. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras, on the basis of which police lodged an FIR against the unidentified accused.Ricky Guleria of Malakpur village, manager at the supermarket, said employees informed him about the fire in the garment section. He said garments kept on three racks were gutted, causing loss of around Rs 50,000. When they scanned CCTV cameras installed on the premises, they saw a man deliberately setting the racks on fire. ASI Rupinder Singh, who is the investigating officer, said an FIR was registered under relevant sections of BNS against the unidentified accused.
