Nagpur: The ongoing conflict between Iran and the US-Israel axis has begun impacting fuel and commodity prices, with LPG cylinder rates witnessing a sharp hike and edible oil prices also rising in the past few days. The increase is expected to add to the financial burden on households while pushing up operational costs for hotels and restaurants. The price of the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder, used by households, increased from ₹905 to ₹964.50, registering a hike of ₹59.50. Consumers who booked cylinders earlier also felt the impact of the revised rates.Commercial cylinders also became costlier. The 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder, widely used by hotels, restaurants and small businesses, saw a price rise from ₹1,944.50 to ₹2,059, an increase of ₹114.50.“I booked an LPG cylinder around three days back and paid ₹905. When I received the delivery on Friday, I was asked to pay an extra ₹60. If I already paid the money, why should I pay extra,” asked Archana Shahu, a resident of Besa.Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) president Tejinder Singh Renu said that amid the price fluctuations are understandable, but supply should not be cut.Edible oil prices also increased sharply in the wholesale market. Speaking to TOI, edible oil wholesale dealer Dattatray Yenurkar said that in the last few days, edible oil prices rose by ₹100 to ₹200 per 15 kg.“The prices of refined oils, including soybean and sunflower, increased by around ₹200. These oils are mostly imported from Gujarat to Nagpur, while the raw material is imported from other countries. Similarly, prices of groundnut oil, flaxseed oil and mustard oil saw a rise of around ₹100 to ₹150,” Yenurkar said.Babita Chillate, a resident of Itwari, said rising fuel and cooking oil prices are making it difficult for families to manage household budgets. “The price of LPG cylinders should be kept in check, as rising costs force families to adjust their budgets,” she said.Box:LPG RatesOld rates 14 kg – Rs 905 2 kg – Rs 289 5 kg – Rs 590 19 kg – Rs 1,944.50 47 kg – Rs 4,857 New rates 14 kg – Rs 964.50 2 kg – Rs 299 5 kg – Rs 618 19 kg – Rs 2,059 47 kg – Rs 5,143
