Vadodara: The district supply department on Tuesday issued a notice to a gas agency in the Sama area after irregularities were found during a surprise inspection.A team from the district supply office raided Hari Gas Agency as part of ongoing checks across the city and district to ensure domestic LPG cylinders are distributed in line with govt norms.Officials said the agency was allegedly bypassing the prescribed delivery system by distributing cylinders directly from its godown instead of supplying them to customers’ homes.Despite this, the agency was reportedly charging delivery fees, amounting to overcharging and a violation of rules. Based on the findings, authorities issued a notice and initiated legal action against the agency.The district administration said ensuring consumer protection and strict adherence to regulations remains a priority. Officials added that inspections of LPG agencies will continue, and action will be taken under the Essential Commodities Act against violators.
