Vadodara: A state monitoring cell (SMC) team raided an open plot near Nandesari GIDC on Monday and seized liquor worth Rs 43 lakh, arresting six persons.Acting on a tip-off, SMC officials reached the spot and found the accused allegedly filling liquor into smaller containers. One of the accused, identified as Sunil Tailor, attempted to flee but was injured and later apprehended.Police said the gang was sourcing liquor from Haryana and smuggling it into Gujarat, supplying it to bootleggers in and around Vadodara.In a similar operation last month, the SMC had seized liquor worth lakhs from the Jawaharnagar area. Police have declared 10 more persons wanted in the Nandesari case.An offence under the Prohibition Act has been registered at Nandesari police station.
