Varanasi: A law student was brutally beaten to death on suspicion of illicit relations with wife of the accused in Gobra village under Chandawak police station in Jaunpur district late Sunday night.Jaunpur ASP (city) Ayush Srivastava said on Monday that by Vishnu Mishra and his accomplice were arrested in the case. Vishnu suspected Sachchidanand Mishra (30) of illicit relations with his wife and had issued threats of dire consequences. After calling Sachchidanand to his place, Vishnu and his accomplice beat him to death with sticks. Police sent the body for post mortem. On hearing screams of Sachchidanand around 10.15 pm, Gobra residents alerted Chandawak police about the attack. On reaching the spot, police rushed an unconscious Sachchidanand to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.According to reports, a dispute over pursuing a court case is being cited as reason for the murder. Family members accused some people from the same village. Additionally, there are allegations against police that a written complaint regarding a dispute 3 days ago was ignored. Father of the deceased, Ramcharan Mishra of Gobra, said Sachchidanand, while continuing his study of law at a private college in Prayagraj, was also interning with a senior advocate at the Jaunpur civil court. Around 10pm, two villagers took him with them. Later, his family received information that Sachchidanand was lying injured at a pump house.
