Thiruvananthapuram: P S Supal, MLA, who represents Punalur assembly constituency, has said that the family of the man who was killed in a wild boar attack on Friday would be provided land under ‘Landless Punalur’ project in the Kallada Irrigation Project area to build a house.He said the govt would provide Rs 10 lakh as immediate relief and he would request to sanction an additional Rs 5 lakh as compensation. The forest department was also directed to extend Rs 10,000 for postmortem rituals. Steps were being taken to provide employment to a family member, the MLA said. Plantation worker Raghunathan Pillai, 55, was killed around 11am at Chaliyakkara AVT Estate near Karavoor when he was on his way to the junction to buy breakfast. He was attacked near an anganwadi. Locals rushed him to Punalur Taluk Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The forest department’s Rapid Response team inspected the area and a shooter will be deputed to eliminate the wild boar.
