Rajkot: In a bizarre bid to make quick money, a 30-year-old man from Kutch was arrested by Bhuj police after he posted a misleading video on Instagram, allegedly promoting fraudulent currency exchange and discounted gold deals. The accused, Anjum Jusab Sama, was seen in the video flashing bundles of Indian currency notes. He placed his mobile phone on top of the stacks and used captions like “5 ka 15” and “hand to hand deal, face to face,” while also claiming to offer gold biscuits at 15% below market rates.According to police officials, Sama was attempting to lure unsuspecting people by promising counterfeit currency — purportedly offering three times the value of genuine notes — in exchange for real cash. The video was allegedly designed to mislead and trap those seeking quick and illegal profits.Acting swiftly on the suspicious post, Bhuj police detained Sama before any transactions could take place. A formal inquiry has been launched to assess the scale of the fraud and investigate whether others were involved in the racket.
