Nagpur: The 4th edition of Khasdar Jyeshtha Nagrik Sanskritik Mahotsav, a cultural festival dedicated to senior citizens, will be held on Feb 14 and 15 at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbagh. The two-day event aims to provide meaningful entertainment, promote positivity, and encourage active social participation among senior citizens.The festival will be inaugurated on Feb 14 at 10.30am by actress and three-time Filmfare Award winner Padmini Kolhapure. The inaugural function will be presided over by Union minister Nitin Gadkari, with senior leader Datta Meghe present as chief guest. This will be followed by a light music programme by Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Suresh Wadkar.
On Feb 15, popular Marathi programme ‘Ayushyavar Bolu Kahi’, presented by poet-lyricist-composer duo Salil Kulkarni and Sandeep Khare, will be staged at 10.30am. Marathi actress, writer, and social activist Nishigandha Wad will also be present at the programme.The festival is organised annually by Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan. Over the years, the mahotsav has hosted several eminent personalities from the fields of cinema, music, and literature, including Rajdutt, Jeetendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Sameer, Nitin Mukesh, Anup Jalota, Vandana Gupte, and Shekhar Sen.Senior citizens who made notable contributions in various fields and to social development will be felicitated during the festival. Entry is free, but passes are mandatory. Free passes can be collected between 12 noon and 4pm from Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Jyeshtha Nagrik Pratishthan office, and Nitin Gadkari Jan Sampark Karyalaya.Meghe, along with the trustees, have appealed to senior citizens and the public to attend the festival. The details were shared at a press conference attended by Dr Raju Mishra, Ramesh Mankar, Dr Sanjay Ugemuge, Anil Sole, Avinash Ghushe, Narayan Samarth, Ashok Mankar, and Prabhakar Yewale.
