Bengaluru: The high court Monday extended till March 9 the interim protection granted to actor Ranveer Singh in relation to the crime registered against him for alleged mimicry of a character in Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1.On Feb 24, the high court passed a conditional ad-interim order directing Bengaluru police not to take any coercive steps against the actor, subject to the condition that he cooperated with the investigation.On Monday, senior advocate Sajan Poovayya, who appeared for Ranveer through a video-conferencing facility, submitted that the actor wasn’t able to fly back to India owing to non-availability of flights following the tense situation in Gulf region.On the other hand, the additional state public prosecutor submitted that the actor sought time in response to the notices sent by police.Considering the submissions, Justice M Nagaprasanna adjourned the hearing by a week, extending the interim order passed on Feb 24.
