Kanpur: Kanpur Panchayat, in association with the Merchants’ Chamber of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated Kanpur Diwas on Tuesday, where experts highlighted the city’s historical legacy, development challenges and future possibilities.Speaking on the occasion, Kanpur Panchayat coordinator Dharam Prakash Gupta said that Kanpur Panchayat has been consistently organising programmes to promote the city’s literature, history, tourism and cultural identity, with support from various organisations and individuals.Vastu expert Vimal Jhajharia spoke about Kanpur’s development from the perspective of Vastu Shastra and environmental balance. He stressed that making the Ganga pollution-free is essential to restore the city’s energy and support its development.Astrologer Shivang Mishra suggested that effective execution of schemes is the practical solution to overcome such hurdles. Highlighting Kanpur’s potential, social activist Indramohan Rohatgi said the city has immense scope for tourism and overall development. However, he emphasised that these possibilities can only be realised with strong determination and proper execution of plans. The event also included a felicitation ceremony, where individuals who have made notable contributions in various fields were honoured. The event concluded with a collective call to preserve Kanpur’s heritage.
