Srinagar, Mar 20: Jammu and Kashmir is set to host the Kashmir Travel Mart 2026 on April 14 and 15, bringing together around 250 stakeholders from over 20 states ahead of the upcoming tourist season.
The event, announced through the official social media account of the Chief Minister’s Office, will promote the region’s tourism offerings through curated destination tours, craft safaris, and B2B engagements.
“A significant initiative aimed at strengthening tourism linkages and further positioning Kashmir as a premier global travel destination,” the CM’s Office said.
The announcement comes as tourism players are expecting a strong spring season. The Chief Minister’s Office also shared a video showcasing the picturesque Badamwari garden, which was opened to visitors on March 14, along with the mustard bloom and the Tulip Garden, which was inaugurated on March 16.
Prominent hotelier and President of Hoteliers Club Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya said the decision was taken by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and Director Tourism Kashmir Syed Qamar Sajad. He described it as timely and the need of the hour.
Farooq Kuthoo, President of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK), welcomed the development, saying such an event will bring prominent tour operators together for B2B interactions and help promote Brand Kashmir.
“Kudos to the Director and his team for curating this idea,” he said.
