Daltonganj: A total of nine senior Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) ultras laid down their arms before the Jharkhand Police, 11 Bn of CRPF, 32 Bn of SSB, and 35 Bn of SSB on Monday, said police. Those surrendered were identified as zonal commander Ravinder Yadav, sub-zonal commanders Mukesh Ram, Akhilesh Yadav, Baldev Ganjhu, Pawan alias Ram Prasad Mahto, and four area commanders Dhruv Ji, Vijay Yadav, Shravan Singh, and Mukesh Ganjhu. Ravinder, Akhilesh, and Baldev carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh each on their heads, said police. They gave up 12 sophisticated arms — a AK-56, four AK-47s, three SLRs, two .303 rifles, a CAL-30 MI semi-rifle, and a 30 MI-Guard — besides 1,782 rounds of fire and 26 magazines, police added.Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said, “The JJMP’s disintegration started when its supremo, Pappu Lohra, was eliminated by security forces at Latehar in May this year. With today’s surrender, the outfit has lost its second-rung leaders. A serious reverse migration of the JJMP ultras is taking place to join the mainstream society. Soon the handful of rebels left in the outlawed outfit will lay down their arms.” Ravinder has 14 cases lodged against him with police stations in Latehar, Gumla, Lohardaga districts. His deputy Mukesh Ran has 21 cases with police stations in Latehar, Akhilesh has 10 cases with police stations in Latehar and Palamu, Baldev Ganjhu has nine cases with police stations in Latehar, Pawan has three cases with police stations in Latehar and Gumla, said police. Dhruv has three cases registered against him in Gumla and Latehar districts while Vijay has two cases with police stations in Latehar, Shravan has two cases in Latehar, and Mukesh Ganjhu has two cases with police stations in Latehar, police added.
