Ranchi: Jharkhand’s chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Thursday directed the deputy electoral officers (DEOs) of all districts to expedite the verification of documents of voters that are being sent to the state by the CEOs of other states, where special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is under way.The documents belong to the natives of Jharkhand, who are residents of other states, at present.“The CEO offices located in other states have sent the forms to us for verification to find out whether these people have submitted genuine documents there since their names are missing from the earlier SIR voter list. The documents will be verified here and sent back promptly,” he said.“Preparations for intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state should be completed in time so that it becomes easier during the intensive revision (SIR) process.”“Prepare the list by conducting intensive checking of absent, shifted, deleted and duplicate voters along with parental mapping of electoral rolls. Not a single case related to blurred photos of voters in the electoral roll should remain pending,” K Ravi Kumar told the electoral officers.“For clear and coloured photographs in voter identity cards, the BLOs concerned should click and upload photographs on the BLO app. Resolve problems coming from voters through ‘Book a Call with BLO’ via ECINET and to contact the call requests received in the app on time,” the state CEO stated.“We have received 1,640 verification forms from West Bengal, 106 from Chhattisgarh, and 53 from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands,” he revealed.
