Patna: Jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh was allegedly stolen from a house at Dilawarpur village under IIT-Amahara police station area of Patna district. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when Baiju Kumar’s family saw that the door of their puja room and an almirah inside wide open, with all jewellery missing. The family informed the local police, following which they reached the spot and started an investigation. Subsequently, the FSL team and dog squad were called to the spot.Baiju lodged a complaint, stating that all gold and silver ornaments belonging to his mother and sister were stolen, even as the other rooms were untouched.The station house officer (SHO) of IIT-Amahara, Shiv Shankar Kumar, said that the CCTV cameras installed nearby are being examined, but nothing suspicious has been found yet. “The main and back doors of the house remain intact. The puja room’s door was not locked, where Baiju’s mother and sister kept their ornaments. Even the cupboard was not locked by the family,” he said, adding the ornaments of Baiju and his wife were in the almirah of their room. “The thieves only targeted the puja room. The police suspect that the thieves are someone known to the family.”
