New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday deferred the hearing on allegations of “illegal detention” levelled by subcontractor Rajesh Prajapati in the Janakpuri biker death case, after police failed to submit the CCTV-based report sought by the court. The matter will now be heard on Feb 18. Metropolitan magistrate Harjot Singh Aujla, in a separate direction, also listed the bail plea of labourer Yogesh — another accused in the Feb 5–6 incident — for the same date.
In a Feb 11 order rejecting Prajapati’s regular bail application, the court had directed the investigating officer (IO) of Janakpuri police station to file a detailed reply to the detention allegations and place on record a complete account of events between Feb 6 and 8, supported by CCTV footage. On Monday, in the IO’s absence, police said the footage could not be retrieved due to ‘technical constraints’ but had been preserved and would be submitted once extracted.TNN
