Ferozepur: In a significant seizure under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Ferozepur police recovered 20 grams of heroin from a commando jail staff of Ferozepur Central Jail on Saturday. The accused security Commando has been identified as LR/HC Sukha Singh, a resident of village Malluwal under Jabbal police station in Taran Taran district. According to police sources, information was received from Tarsem Singh, assistant superintendent of the Central Jail, Ferozepur, who reported that commando LR/HC Sukha Singh, was found carrying narcotics during a security check while entering the entrance gate of the jail.The accused was discovered to be in possession of 20 grams of heroin from the sole of his left shoe.The matter is under investigation and a case has been registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act. Further investigations in the case are on with Gurdeep Singh, assistant sub inspector, City police station, who is investigating officer (IO) in this case.
