Gujarat Titans (GT) is one of the youngest cricket franchises in the Indian Premier League, founded in 2022.
The team made an immediate impact in the league, lifting the IPL title in its debut season in 2022 and finishing as runners‑up the following year in 2023.
It has also appeared in two finals and qualified for the playoff stages 3 times.
At the 2026 IPL auction, GT added West Indies all‑rounder Jason Holder, England wicketkeeper batter Tom Banton, Indian fast bowler Ashok Sharma, England left‑arm pacer Luke Wood and Indian quick Prithvi Raj Yarra to their team. Sherfane Rutherford was traded out to Mumbai Indians.
Apart from captain Shubman Gill, the team retained Sai Sudharsan, Kumar Kushagra, Anuj Rawat, Jos Buttler, Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, Arshad Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Rashid Khan, Manav Suthar, Sai Kishore, and Jayant Yadav.
With a well-balanced squad consisting of both experienced cricketers and promising youngsters, the Titans will look forward to get hold of their second IPL title.
Previously led by Hardik Pandya and after his trading to Mumbai Indians, the baton was passed to Shubman Gill.
