They raised slogans against the BCC commissioner for halting the issuing of e-property and B-account for the properties on technical grounds, alleging the move disrupted industrial operations and caused financial losses. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the BCC commissioner.
Suresh Itagi, the district president of Karunad Vijaya Sene, said the process of issuing e-property and B-khata for KIDB-related properties of Belagavi Auto Nagar, which is a small industrial area of Belagavi city, was completely stalled for the past 1.5 years. Despite several written and oral representations by the small-scale industrialists, workers, and property owners, no clear reply or written response was given by the BCC officials. Due to this delay, industrialists are unable to avail bank loan facilities, and the sale, purchase, and transfer of property was completely disrupted. Small and medium industries are facing severe financial difficulties, they complained. What is even more serious is that e-property certificates are being issued only to the elite of the city for some properties related to KIDB, while unnecessary rules and obstacles are being put forth for ordinary industrialists. This is a clear violation of Article 14 (Right to Equality) and Article 19(1)(g) (Right to Trade and Employment) of the Constitution, they said.hey warned that if action was not taken within8 days, they will file a complaint under the Sakala Act to the govt through CPGRAMS, the central unit. The BCC commissioner, who accepted the memorandum, assured of action within 15 days after getting the approval of the council meeting.
