Times News NetworkChennai: A team of experts from IIT Madras will assist the CBSE in fixing technical glitches in its portal for revaluation process for Class XII students.The team will work alongside experts from IIT Kanpur to improve the technical workflow. An announcement to this effect was made by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday.While IIT-M is yet to respond to TOI’s queries on what role it would play in the process, a release from the Union ministry said the expert teams will examine portal stability and server performance, assess the overall robustness of the IT infrastructure, and assist in taking corrective measures. “The team will also ensure that login authentication, user access systems and payment gateways function accurately and properly,” it added.The CBSE, which is set to open its revaluation applications from May 26, launched a portal on May 19 to let parents and students apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets.However, glitches have hit the portal’s functioning since the day of launch. Several parents were unable to open the portal, access the links or make payments. In a few cases, the cost of answer sheet scans, which is ₹100 as per the CBSE’s revised rate, went up to ₹60,000 due to glitches.This prompted the CBSE to extend the last date to apply for scans from May 22 to Sunday (May 24). The board had also appointed its own technical experts on May 20 to resolve the issue. However, parents continued to face issues until Saturday.School heads welcome the move to appoint experts from top institutes. “It was indeed saddening to see students facing issues repeatedly for no fault of their own. There shouldn’t be any issue at least in the applications for revaluation, which commences from May 26,” the principal of a school in Adyar said.
