Bengaluru: The overall pass percentage across the state rose by 13 percentage points, from 73.45% in 2025 (Exam 1) to 86.48% this year.Among districts, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have secured the top positions with pass percentages of 96.39% and 96.35%, respectively. The deputy director of PU Education (DDPU) of Udupi district, Maruthi, told TOI that the district topped the charts last year and was confident of retaining the position this year. “We increased the number of review meetings. At least four district-level meetings were held involving officials and heads of institutions. Review meetings were also conducted after every term and preparatory exam,” the DDPU said.On the other hand, the bottom three districts are Yadgiri (71.21%), Raichur (74.09%) and Gadag (76.65%), followed closely by Kalaburagi at 76.97%.Vijayapura registered the most significant improvement between 2025 and 2026, with its pass percentage rising sharply from 58.81% to 92%. Yadgiri also saw notable progress, improving from 48.45% to 71.21%.Bengaluru recorded around a 90% pass rate among second PU students in Exam 1 this year. The three educational districts reported the following results: Bengaluru North – 90.05%, Bengaluru Rural – 91%, and Bengaluru South – 90.55%.
