Mysuru: During the passing-out parade of the 8th batch of armed police trainees at the CAR grounds near Chamundi Hills on Tuesday, Southern Range IGP MB Boralingaiah highlighted the importance of discipline and humane policing.Addressing the recruits, he said wearing the uniform brings immense responsibility, urging officers to treat every visitor with compassion, kindness and understanding, especially those in distress. He also stressed the need to stay abreast of modern technology-driven investigations and to adopt a mindset of continuous learning.This diverse batch comprises 19 engineering graduates, six postgraduates, 110 graduates and one nursing graduate, with 144 recruits from rural areas and six from urban backgrounds.In the awards segment, Sanjay Manobai of Bengaluru received the ‘Sarvothama’ (Best All-rounder) Award. Other top performers recognised for excellence in indoor, outdoor and rifle shooting included LM Shivaraja, Ravi, Shivaraja Siddarama Revatagaon, Akash Desai, Juned Pasha and AY Raghavendra, highlighting the high standards of the new officers.The ceremony, organised by the Temporary Police Training School, was attended by several senior officials, including city police commissioner Seema Latkar, Mysuru SP Mallikarjuna Baladandi, KPA deputy director SL Chennabasavanna and CESC Vigilance SP Savitha Hoogar, along with other DCPs and administrative heads. The 150 trainees showcased a disciplined parade, performing rhythmic marches to the police band.
