Mangaluru: Mangaluru will host the two-day International Clinical Neuroimmunology Workshop (ICNW 2026) from Saturday, bringing together neurologists, researchers and clinicians from India and abroad.Center for Advanced Neurological Research, Nitte (deemed to be university), is organising the academic programme to strengthen clinical practice in the rapidly evolving field of neuroimmunology.
Organisers said the workshop aims to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of practising neurologists through practical exposure to advanced visual diagnostic tools, imaging techniques and biomarker analysis used in neuroimmunological disorders. The sessions are designed to bridge emerging scientific knowledge with day-to-day clinical decision-making, with an emphasis on improving patient care through earlier and more accurate diagnosis and better-informed management strategies.A key highlight of ICNW 2026 is its hands-on, demonstration-based format. The programme includes live Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) workshops, video-aided demonstrations and interactive in-person discussions. Experts from Canada, the United States, South Asia and the UAE are expected to participate, offering real-world perspectives on diagnosing and managing neuroimmunological conditions and sharing practical approaches adoptable in clinical settings.The workshop is being conducted under the leadership of Dr Lekha Pandit, professor of neurology and director, Center for Advanced Neurological Research, KS Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte (deemed to be university), who will serve as course director.The inaugural function will be attended by Dr Asha Kishore, Director, Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Centre, Aster Medicity, Kochi, as chief guest. The event will be presided over by Prof MS Moodithaya, vice chancellor, Nitte (deemed to be university). Harsha Halahalli, registrar, and Dr Sandeep Rai, dean, KS Hegde Medical Academy, will also attend.
