Gorakhpur: Assuring fair governance, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed police to take strict and immediate action against incidents of intimidation and hooliganism, warning that such behaviour will not be tolerated.During Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath Temple for the second consecutive day, the CM heard the grievances of around 200 people. He took serious note of hooliganism complaints, particularly from underprivileged sections, alleging intimidation and threats by influential individuals.Yogi ordered that if any accused, after securing bail, threatens a complainant, officials should initiate steps to seek cancellation of the bail.Emphasising fair governance, he directed officials to ensure prompt and satisfactory redressal of all complaints without discrimination, strict action against land mafia, proper access to welfare schemes and medical treatment for the needy.Reassuring people seeking financial aid for serious illnesses, the CM said treatment would not be hindered due to lack of funds and that the govt would provide aid once hospital estimates are submitted.He also interacted warmly with children, offering them chocolates and blessings.On Thursday night, the chief minister performed rituals on the occasion of Mahashtami at the Gorakhnath Temple. He offered prayers to Goddess Maha Gauri amid Vedic chants, followed by havan and aarti as per Gorakshpeeth traditions. He also prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the state.
