NEW DELHI: Just days before inauguration, Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor saw workers manually clearing stagnant water from the carriageway.
Four workers were seen using plastic containers to scoop up water and discard it on the opposite side of the road. A tractor bearing the NHAI logo was also seen nearby.
The manual intervention comes as authorities race to prepare the expressway for its expected opening by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14.
“The drain was completely choked,” said one worker at the site. “We have no choice but to collect the stagnant water in containers and throw it away to clear the stretch.”
