Vadodara: Nearly two hours of tense drama was witnessed in the Manjalpur area on Saturday after a man climbed onto the parapet of a seven-storey apartment building and threatened to end his life.The situation kept residents and authorities on edge as police and fire brigade personnel tried to persuade the man to step away from the edge. After prolonged efforts and constant conversation, the rescue team finally managed to pull him to safety, averting a potential tragedy.According to sources, the man lived in the apartment with a woman and the two were believed to be in a live-in relationship. Following a quarrel between them, he reportedly went up to the terrace and threatened to jump.Teams from the fire brigade and police rushed to the spot and deployed safety nets below the building as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, some personnel went up to the terrace and attempted to calm him down while keeping him engaged in conversation.One of the rescue personnel managed to catch the man off guard and pull him away from the edge.The man was later taken to the Manjalpur Police Station for questioning.
