Kollam: Action on a complaint alleging dumping of garbage and human waste on a public road in Thekkevila will be taken based on the final verdict of high court, Kollam revenue divisional officer (RDO) informed human rights commission.The submission was made following directions from panel member V Geetha while considering a petition filed by Jaini Subair, a resident of Thekkevila. In the complaint, Subair alleged that unidentified persons were dumping garbage and excreta onto a public road, creating severe unhygienic conditions for residents.According to the report submitted to panel, the complainants have already approached the HC seeking intervention. The court has issued interim directions restraining the opposing parties from continuing the dumping.Eravipuram police have also initiated action in the case. RDO stated that further steps, including enforcement and preventive measures, will be taken in accordance with outcome of the case pending before HC. The panel has recorded the submission and is expected to review the matter after the court’s decision.
