Hazaribag: A delegation city-based jewellers, led by MP Manish Jaiswal, on Monday met SP Anjani Anjan and demanded stringent action against criminals who demanded levy from two prominent based jewellery showroom in the city last month. Extortion calls were made to the jewellers after miscreants fired at a jewellery showroom in the city on June 22. “Sudden increase in criminal activities in Hazaribag has disturbed the business community and they are living in a state of fear,” Jaiswal told the SP in what his second meeting in a week and demanded immediate action in this regard. Assuring the MP that efforts were being taken to arrest the culprits, SP assured the businessmen to run their establishments without fear as the police would ensure their safety. He also assured that he will speak to the district administration to make all CCTVs in the city functional and set up a few more. “A special investigation team has been formed to probe the firing incident and a few vital clues have been received,” SP said.
