Chennai: A 35-year-old auto driver died by suicide in Tiruvallur on Wednesday morning. His wife reported that he was harassed by creditors over a pending loan. Hari, a resident of Barma Nagar, is survived by his wife, Subhalakshmi, and their two sons. According to police, Hari borrowed 60,000 from a private bank three years ago to purchase a scooter for his wife. While he managed to repay a portion of the amount, around 26,000 was outstanding. Police said Hari had frequent arguments with a loan recovery agent over the pending amount. He took his life when his wife was away with their children on Tuesday.
