Ahmedabad: Gujarat is witnessing a surge in e-commerce momentum, with new seller registrations rising 35% year-on-year, signaling growing digital adoption and a robust shift toward online retail among businesses across the state, according to Amazon.The e-commerce giant has significantly expanded its zero-referral fee program, which now covers over 12.5 crore products—a tenfold increase from the 1.2 crore products included in 2025. This financial incentive applies to items priced below Rs 1,000 in popular categories such as fashion, home, kitchen, and electronics accessories. To further lower the barrier for small-scale entrepreneurs, Amazon has also reduced Easy Ship fees by 20% for products priced under Rs 300.Gaurav Bhatnagar, director of sales at Amazon India, noted that sellers in major hubs like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot are rapidly expanding their digital catalogs. This expansion highlights how local businesses are leveraging competitive fee structures and logistical support to reach a broader national audience.
