Ahmedabad: The Class 12 Commerce stream computer examination, conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Saturday, was well-received by students and educators, with many describing the paper as balanced. The question paper reflected the board’s recent syllabus revisions, which trimmed several chapters to reduce students’ academic load. Chapter 10 (Exception Handling), Chapter 11 (File Handling), and Chapter 12 (Document Publishing using LaTeX) were excluded entirely, along with topics on R software and Rational Plan from Chapter 13. No questions were set from the removed portions. The paper covered computer fundamentals, JavaScript, e-commerce, m-commerce, cybersecurity and basic Java programming concepts. Some questions were drawn directly from the textbook, while others tested conceptual understanding and logical reasoning. The Java section included questions on arrays, constructors, inheritance, and memory management. While most students found the e-commerce and web designing sections straightforward, some reported that certain Java programming questions required more careful reading and were not as clear-cut.
