Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) Class 10 board exams began with language papers that largely met students’ expectations. It featured familiar essay topics along with letter and email writing tasks.For Gujarati-medium students appearing for Gujarati as their first language, three essay options were provided: “My Memorable Journey,” “How Can I Forget That Teacher?” and “Adopt Swadeshi – Make the Nation Prosperous”. Students were required to write on any one topic. They were also asked to prepare a report on a tree plantation programme organised in an institution.Meanwhile, English-medium students writing the English first language paper were given two essay topics: “India of My Dreams” and “Can AI Replace the Human Brain?” In addition, students were asked to write a letter encouraging a friend appearing for the board exams this year.An email-writing task required them to draft a complaint to an online company regarding damaged goods received. Another question asked students to write a report as a journalist describing relief and rescue work carried out by youths in a flood-affected area.
