Ahmedabad: The state govt in the assembly admitted that they received nine complaints from Ahmedabad under the Right to Education Act between April 2024 and Jan 1 this year. The complaints alleged that certain schools were not admitting students in morning shifts. The state govt was replying to a question by Jamalpur-Khadia Congress MLA Imran Khedawala who sought details of the action taken against such schools. The govt said that of these nine complaints, six were from the eastern part, while three were from Thaltej, Ranip, and Vadaj. The govt said in the reply that no major action was taken as the parents accepted the solutions offered during the investigation. In one case, the investigator found that the parent misunderstood the situation, as no primary division was operating in the afternoon shift. In the case of a Thaltej school, the investigator found that the school admitted students in both shifts. The parent later gave a written statement, and there was no complaint.
