Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has postponed several examinations due to local body elections in the state, with staff and officials assigned to election duties cited as the main reason. Under the revised schedule, exams previously scheduled to begin on April 16 will now start on May 1. Exams scheduled for April 24 have been moved to May 12, while those planned for early May will now be held from May 21. The overall exam cycle is expected to be delayed by 15-20 days. The university had earlier planned to hold more than 34 exams across various semesters, starting May 1, followed by around 30 from May 12, and 11 more from May 21. These include the Semester 4 and 6 exams for undergraduate students, Semesters 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 for integrated law courses, and LLB Semester 1 and BEd Semester 2.With the revised schedule, most exams are likely to take place during the vacation period. The university said a detailed timetable will be announced soon.
