Fazilka: A granthi (Sikh priest) was attacked with a ‘tava’ (a flat griddle used for making rotis) at a Gurdwara located in Fazilka’s Bahak Khas village. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras. The police have arrested the accused youth, and further legal action is underway.According to information, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening while Granthi Swaran Singh was performing the ‘ardas’ (congregational prayer) inside the Gurdwara, when a youth approached, holding a griddle in his hand. In the presence of the devotees, he struck the granthi on the head from behind. The granthi was wearing a turban, which protected him from sustaining severe injuries. Immediately after the attack, Swaran and his associates apprehended the attacker on the spot. The accused has been identified as Sunil Singh, son of Chiman Singh, a resident of Bahak Khas.
