Nagpur: Maharashtra govt has granted a six-month extension to Deven Chauhan as govt pleader (GP) and public prosecutor at Nagpur bench of the Bombay high court. Chauhan was appointed for a two-year term in February 2024. As per notification issued by the state’s Law and Judiciary Department on Wednesday, Chauhan’s tenure will be extended from February 26, for 6 months or until he attains age of 62 years, whichever is earlier, under provisions of Maharashtra Law Officers (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Remuneration) Rules, 1984.A senior advocate with more than 24 years of experience, Chauhan began his career under mentorship of senior counsel Subodh Dharmadhikari before establishing his independent practice in 2007.
