OpenAI says that ChatGPT prompt requests from its users have quickly become the go-to Search alternative on the internet.
ChatGPT queries are slowly getting close to Search requests
AI search tools are gaining traction and it seems Google’s search dominance is slowly but surely getting chased down. OpenAI has claimed that its own AI chatbot is receiving over 2 billion prompt requests from its users.
Search is slowly being replaced with these AI-powered tools and it seems OpenAI is making merry with the demand and traction for these features available to millions of users. The company has mentioned that 2.5 billion daily prompt requests are being catered to by its servers, in a disclosure to Axios in this report.Â
ChatGPT Grows Beyond USÂ
The intriguing aspect of these details is that only over 330 million of these prompt requests are coming from users based in the United States. The 2.5 billion daily prompt queries for ChatGPT is definitely better than the 1 billion prompts the AI chatbot was recording back in December last year.
Even then, Google’s Search gets over 15 billion queries daily, which shows the gap that ChatGPT and other AI search models have to make before Google starts sweating on its own ambitions and dominance.Â
To be fair, Google is showing its own AI roadmap by integrating Gemini into Search with the new AI mode. You will also start seeing AI-curated results in Discover and other Google products, which is in line with the plans announced by the company at the I/O conferences in the last two years.Â
ChatGPT has more avenues to rack up its daily prompt queries in the next few years. OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT agents for its premium subscribers that mimics other AI agents that have been operating in the last few months.Â
“ChatGPT can now do work for you using its own computer, handling complex tasks from start to finish,” which pretty much sums up what an AI agent offers and ChatGPT is taking this avatar for its users.Â
But unlike other host of AI agents in the market, OpenAI is utilising its higher ability and dataset to deliver a seamless and effective experience.Â
That’s not all, beyond AI agents, OpenAI is also lining up the GPT 5.0 launch sometime in 2025 and that will further increase its reach, feature set and AI applications.
