Srinagar, Nov 02: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, accompanied by the GOC of the Ace of Spades Division, carried out a comprehensive review of the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) during a visit to forward areas in the Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch on Tuesday.
Officials said the visit was part of the Army’s routine assessment of operational preparedness in sensitive border regions.
According to defence sources, the commanders interacted with troops across multiple forward posts and were briefed on the ground situation, including recent trends in infiltration attempts, strengthening of the counter-infiltration grid, and the integration of new technologies for real-time surveillance.
Troops updated the senior leadership on ongoing training schedules, induction of modern equipment, and measures undertaken to ensure swift and accurate operational responses.
Officials added that the briefing covered significant upgrades in both day and night surveillance capabilities, with the deployment of advanced sensors, high-resolution cameras and improved communication networks aimed at reducing reaction time during ceasefire violations or suspicious movement along the LoC.
The commanders were also apprised of logistical preparedness, winter stocking and the readiness of support units as the region moves into harsh winter conditions.
During his interaction, the GOC of the White Knight Corps praised the troops for their professionalism, dedication and high morale while operating in challenging terrain and extreme weather. He emphasised the importance of maintaining round-the-clock vigilance, noting that the LoC remains vulnerable to attempts by hostile elements to exploit gaps in the security grid.
He stressed the need for regular refinement of operational drills, frequent rehearsals and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The commander also highlighted the importance of precision engagement capabilities, strengthened intelligence coordination and the adoption of evolving technologies to stay ahead of adversarial tactics.
