Panaji: State-level coordinator for public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs), Madhurendra Pandey, in a statement on Saturday, said that the availability of petrol, diesel and LPG gas in the state is sufficient to meet the current demand, as informed by the OMCs in Goa, and the supply remains uninterrupted.“The public sector oil companies have prioritised domestic LPG distribution, and the deliveries are also taking place as scheduled. At present, over 10,600 domestic cylinders are being delivered daily in the state. This matches the pre-war requirements,” Pandey said.
He encouraged consumers to book LPG cylinders via SMS, missed call, or the interactive voice response system (IVRS), and to use the delivery authentication code to ensure better and smoother deliveries.Pandey said that the Centre and state govts are promoting piped natural gas as an alternative cooking fuel, and it is available in Goa at Panaji, Margao and Ponda. The migrant workers who don’t have a local address proof can avail the 5kg free trade LPG cylinders through authorised distributors, once they submit a valid govt-issued photo identity card, he added.“State govt and the district administration are carrying out enforcement drives to prevent hoarding and black marketing. District authorities have conducted over 305 raids in Goa to date, taking strict action where irregularities have been detected,” he and advised the public to not act on rumours of shortages or engage in panic buying.
