Panaji: The North Goa District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed Hero Electric Vehicle to refund Rs 94,153 to a Panaji resident for deficiency in service and pay Rs 10,000 as compensation for physical and mental agony.Complainant Abhijit Joshi said he bought an electric two-wheeler on July 29, 2022, for Rs 94,153 with a three-year warranty and assurance of timely service. Soon after, he faced technical issues. Calls to the hotline went unanswered and the service station delayed repairs. The last service was on Oct 28, 2022.From Jan 2023, no preventive or breakdown service was provided. Emails drew no response and he was referred to another centre, which offered only one maintenance service and refused further requests.After repeated breakdowns, including in May 2024, and no support despite legal notices, Joshi approached the Commission.Presiding President Bela Naik and member Auroliano De Oliveria held the company liable, noting it failed to contest the case despite warranty coverage.
