Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing the ‘Dhanyavaad Evam Viksit Faridabad Rally’ in Faridabad on Saturday, made several announcements for the city, including improvement of major junctions in the city in a phased manner to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce pollution.He said in view of quality issues linked to groundwater-based supply, the option of sourcing fresh drinking water from the Upper Ganga Canal will be explored. Coordination will be established with the Uttar Pradesh govt, and necessary steps will be taken to bring canal water to Faridabad.The CM also announced that rainwater harvesting systems will be installed at 50 community centres and parks in Faridabad in the first phase. In addition, all govt buildings will be equipped with such systems by the respective departments, a move aimed at conserving water and addressing waterlogging.He said a nature park will be developed in Greater Faridabad under the Divya Nagar scheme at a cost of approximately Rs 10 crore. The CM also announced that a large banquet hall will be developed above a multi-level parking facility on about 3 acres of HSVP land opposite to convention hall and near the Labour Court.He added that the state govt would provide land for setting up a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Greater Faridabad. He also announced the establishment of a multi-speciality hospital in Sector-8 under the PPP mode. Additionally, IMT Sector-66 will be developed as a commercial sector and transformed into an entertainment city, featuring modern amenities such as cinema halls, hotels and multiplexes.He also announced that the swimming pool located in Sector-12 will be upgraded under PPP mode and developed into an all-weather facility meeting international standards.Saini also announced an additional grant of Rs 5 crore for development works. He said the recently approved Delhi-Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida RRTS/Namo Bharat corridor will provide new economic strength to Faridabad and significantly enhance connectivity in the region.Saini said over the past 11.5 years, unprecedented work has been carried out in Faridabad in the fields of infrastructure, connectivity, industry, Smart City development, metro expansion and digital services. Continuing this momentum, the CM laid the foundation stone for four major development projects worth Rs 120.76 crore to further accelerate the city’s holistic development.These projects include construction of a rest house at a cost of Rs 50.61 crore, construction of a dispensary-cum-CMO office at Rs 41.70 crore, laying of sewerage lines in various areas at Rs 25 crore, and construction of a school building in Old Faridabad at Rs 3.45 crore.The CM said the govt is committed to making Faridabad one of the cleanest cities in the country. In this direction, the CM unveiled a cleanliness mascot and a cleanliness comic and appealed to citizens to actively participate in the cleanliness drive.Fast-Tracking CM Announcements and Manifesto CommitmentsSaini stated that 44 CM announcements have been made in this area over the past 11.5 years, out of which 24 have been completed, while work on the remaining is progressing rapidly. He emphasised that the govt delivers on its promises, citing that 60 out of 217 manifesto commitments have been fulfilled within one and a half years, with work ongoing on the rest.He said the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being realised in Haryana through ‘Viksit Haryana’. The double-engine govt has implemented the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ on the ground.Rally convener and Haryana cabinet minister Vipul Goel said that ‘Viksit Faridabad’ is no longer just a dream but is rapidly becoming a reality. The CM has given top priority to Faridabad in budget allocations and development plans, accelerating its growth.He said once Faridabad becomes part of the international global corridor, the distance to Jewar Airport will be reduced to just 30 minutes from the current two hours.
