Mumbai: A menstrual health campaign titled ‘Stree Shakti – A No-Profit Initiative’ has been launched to provide free sanitary pads to women and girls in underserved districts of Maharashtra. The initiative aims to address limited access to menstrual hygiene products and reduce stigma around menstruation in rural communities.
Launched on June 21, 2025, the campaign is currently active in districts such as Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Melghat, and Palghar.
According to Generic Aadhar, the campaign’s first phase involves direct, door-to-door distribution by the company’s pharmacy teams, aiming to bypass traditional supply barriers and reach those most in need.
The next phase is expected to expand the initiative to select high-need districts in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, identified for their limited access to menstrual hygiene products.
