The Vector Control Unit will continue its programme against mosquito-borne diseases when it carries out fogging in St. Peter and St. James next week.
The team will spray the following St. Peter districts on Monday, July 21: Air View Road Nos. 1 and 2, Collins, Boscobelle, Date Tree Hill Drive, Hurley’s Close, Johnson Road, Hurley’s Road, Carrington Road, Mount Nos. 1 and 2, and surrounding areas.
They will remain in that parish on Tuesday, July 22, and will target Indian Ground Road, Orunmila Drive, Four Hill, Lonesome Hill, Hibiscus Drive, and environs.
The Unit will focus on St. James for the remainder of the week.
On Wednesday, July 23, St. Silas Heights Nos. 1 to 5, Waterhall Terrace No. 2, and Westmoreland will be fogged.
The next day, Thursday, July 24, the Unit will visit Sion Hill Tenantry, Hall’s Road, Rock Dundo, Bakers Avenue, Bakers Rise, South Drive, Bakers Woods and Upper Carlton Nos. 1 and 2.
The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, July 25, in Bakers, Sion Hill, Turtleback Ridge, Sion Hill Terrace Nos. 1 and 2, Waterhall Terrace No. 1, and neighbouring districts.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
