Vadodara: City police on Friday arrested five more persons in connection with a rioting incident in Padamla village late Monday night, while five others remain absconding.With the latest arrests, the total number of accused held in the case has risen to 21. The five arrested on Friday have been identified as Piyush Chawda, Kamlesh Jadav, Mitesh Parmar, Vikram Gohil and Hardik Padhiyar.The violence erupted on the outskirts of the city following a minor dispute between two residents of the same community. According to police, Rakesh Parmar and Pruthvi Jadav got into an argument on March 23 while overtaking each other on their motorbikes. The dispute resurfaced on Monday night, when the two again clashed, drawing in groups from both sides.The argument soon escalated into a clash, with both groups pelting stones at each other, triggering tension in the village. Locals alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.Chhani police have registered a case of rioting and attempt to murder against members of both groups.
