Labhpur (Birbhum): A fire broke out on the stage shortly after Abhishek Banerjee finished his speech during an election rally near Fullara Temple on Saturday, reports S Boral. Soon after Banerjee stepped off the stage, sparks were seen igniting the upper right section of the stage. At the time, he was already on the ground and at a safe distance.The fire brigade, stationed behind the stage, responded quickly and doused the flames within a short time, preventing any major damage.From the venue, Banerjee proceeded to the nearby temple to offer prayers.Trinamool candidate Abhijit Sinha said, “This was a technical issue. The rally concluded without any disruption.” A fire brigade official remarked, “The moment we heard a sound, we took immediate action. The fire was extinguished within a very short time.”
