Srinagar, 26 March 2026: In the early hours today, a Tata Magic load carrier bearing registration number JK01AN-6235, belonging to Rising Kashmir Newspaper, was gutted in a fire incident near the UNO Office at Sonwar, Srinagar.
The Fire Control Room at Batamaloo received an emergency call at approximately 04:44 AM, following which a team from Fire Station Gowkadal was immediately dispatched to the spot.Upon arrival, the fire personnel found the load carrier completely engulfed in flames.
The firefighters acted swiftly and successfully doused the fire, bringing the situation under control.In the incident, the vehicle suffered significant damage.
However, the driver and co-driver managed to escape unharmed.The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is currently under investigation.No loss of life or injuries have been reported.
