Hyderabad: Panic gripped residents of Mayflower Apartment in Begumpet on Saturday evening after a fire broke out in Flat No 208 on the second floor. The blaze completely gutted the flat and also spread to the flat above (No 308), partially damaging the property there.Fire personnel rushed to the spot and battled the flames for over two hours before bringing them under control. Inspector P Saidulu said no residents were trapped in the building and no casualties were reported. A preliminary investigation suggested the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. However, officials also suspected that a possible LPG leak might have triggered a blast, leading to the fire.Authorities are continuing their inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
