Varanasi: On the directions of the Chief Judicial Magistrate court, Varanasi, the Rohania police have registered a murder case against a BHU doctor and professor in Anaesthesia department and one unidentified person, in connection with the death of Jitendra Yadav in July 2019. The FIR was lodged following a complaint by the deceased’s brother, Dharmendra Yadav, who alleged that the anaesthetist threw Jitendra into Ahraura dam in Mirzapur to kill him, after Jitendra allegedly recorded an objectionable video of the anaesthetist. Rohania police station in-charge Raju Singh said that the FIR was registered on Feb 7 against the anaesthetist and one unknown person immediately after receiving the court’s order. He added that since the incident occurred nearly seven years ago, efforts are underway to collect evidence as part of the renewed investigation.According to Dharmendra, Jitendra worked as an assistant in the operation theatre of Highway Hospital in Chitaipur, where the accused anaesthetist used to provide services. He alleged that Jitendra had recorded an objectionable video of the anaesthetist, and when the latter came to know about it, he demanded that the video be handed over. When Jitendra allegedly refused, a conspiracy was hatched to obtain the clip. Dharmendra further alleged that on July 30, 2019, the anaesthetist took Jitendra to Ahraura dam in Mirzapur on the pretext of a picnic. After consuming liquor along with two other companions, Jitendra was allegedly pushed into the dam, leading to his death. Police had earlier registered a case in 2019 but later submitted a final report, terming the death accidental. Dissatisfied with the outcome, Dharmendra approached the court, following which the fresh FIR has now been registered.
