Nagpur: Two women cooks at Suraj Matimanda Boys and Girls Residential School in Kachurwahi village, under Ramtek police station, were named in FIR for alleged negligence after 13 students were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning on Saturday.The incident occurred during the school’s regular midday meal, served around 11am, for its 31 students. Within hours, several children reported discomfort, and by 1pm, 13 students began vomiting and experiencing diarrhoea.The affected students were rushed to sub-district hospital at Ramtek, where doctors confirmed symptoms consistent with food poisoning. Hospital sources said all children are now stable and under observation.Police launched an investigation into possible lapses in food preparation, hygiene standards, or storage of ingredients. Authorities are reviewing kitchen records, collected samples, and statements from staff and students to ascertain the exact cause. The investigation by Ramtek police continues.
